Celebrate ‘National Plants at Work Week’ at Manor Royal with a FREE plant giveaway
Ambius, the world’s largest interior landscaping company is hosting a free plant giveaway on Thursday 13th July from 12:30pm-2pm, at The Terrace, Manor Royal as part of 'National Plants at Work Week'.
The company will be handing out free desk plants and offering advice on the benefits of plants in the workplace, which include reduced stress, increased focus and a boost in happiness.
One of the most positive benefits of plants in the workplace is that it can lead to an increase in productivity. Research conducted by Professor Marlon Nieuwenhuis and her colleagues at the universities of Cardiff, Exeter, Queensland and Groningen, and supported by Ambius demonstrated that plants can increase productivity by as much as 15%, as well as an improving employees’ sense of wellbeing in the workplace by up to 40%.
In addition the globally recognised ‘biophilia’ theory, developed by American biologist Edward O.Wilson in the 1980’s, concluded that plants can help to control the temperature of a room, clean the air and create natural barriers to harmful airborne microbes.
Now in its fifth year, National Plants at Work Week (10-14 July 2017) aims to raise awareness of the benefits of plants in the working environment. Whilst interior planting can enhance the design and appearance of a workspace, there are further benefits when it comes to employee wellbeing and productivity.
Kenneth Freeman, Head of Innovation at Ambius says: “Adding a bit of plant life is a simple, yet often overlooked, element of workspace design – especially as greenery in the office can deliver proven benefits including increases in attention span, wellbeing and creativity.
“National Plants at Work Week is an important initiative to raise awareness among employers and employees, who may not realise how much plants can influence our happiness, and help us to work more effectively. This small change to the office environment can create large improvements to both employee job satisfaction and their productivity.”
