International charity moves its UK headquarters to Manor Royal
Rescue Global, a disaster risk reduction and response charity, has moved its UK headquarters from Central London to Mayor Royal to help the organisation to expand.
The close proximity to Gatwick Airport from the Business District was also a key factor for Rescue Global in the move from the capital as it will help with rapid international deployments.
The international crisis response charity and disaster management agency moved into their new offices on Fleming Way in July 2015 after Gatwick Road-based Complete Interior Design created a bespoke workspace.
David Jones, Rescue Global's Chief Executive, said: "We are proud to be consolidating and building upon our reputation as innovative leaders in disaster risk reduction and response strategy and advocacy.
"By consistently pushing our own limits, we aim to disrupt the status quo of current disaster management paradigms. We therefore needed an adaptable workspace to support us in these endeavours."
Rescue Global works with decision-makers at nation state level to enable countries to withstand the shocks of disasters and to develop resilience. They also develop strategic long-term disaster risk reduction projects with countries regularly impacted by disasters.
"Rescue Global works proactively with the private sector, and looks forward to meeting its neighbouring businesses on Manor Royal," Mr Jones added.
The charity's new offices equates to almost 5,000 sq ft, spread over two floors. The open-plan ground floor provides training and storage areas and is a fully-functional operations room.
The first floor is dedicated to the day-to-day running of the organisation. The office layout facilitates collaborative work, whilst cutting-edge technology throughout enables their international disaster monitoring and mentoring work.
Tim Bell, Business Development Director at Complete Interior Design, said: "We communicated closely with Rescue Global throughout the design and build process to ensure that their headquarters on Manor Royal support and enable their mission and critical work worldwide, and to ensure their projects meet timings, budgets, and requirements.
"We moved to Manor Royal last summer and we've really enjoyed getting to know our neighbours. There is a great sense of community here and we look forward to working with other businesses on Manor Royal."
